The boys can hardly wait. That’s the underlying sentiment after talking with Mitchell James and Kevin Skinner, coaches at Silverdale’s WestSound FC. They can hardly wait for the start of the first-ever Evergreen Premier League season, and a chance to knock around with other top-talent players around the state of Washington.
goalWA.net visited with both guys on Monday and we came back with four videos for you to check out.
It was just this May that James contacted us to announce that WestSound was forming a men’s side. It was before the EPLWA movement had even begun, but it wasn’t long before the two became linked:
We’d like announce that we have started a new men’s soccer team at WestSound FC with the intentions on entering a competitive league next year,” Mitchell James tellsgoalWA.net. James is a coach with WestSound, a player with Olympic College, and formerly in the Bristol Rovers academy system in England.
“We will use the same logo and name as WestSound FC,” James says.
SILVERDALE, WA— (August 14, 2013) The Evergreen Premier League (EPLWA), a new men’s elite soccer league that will kick off in May 2014, is pleased to announce today that the WestSound FC Men are our fifth accepted club.
Kevin Skinner, one of those coaches, put his passion for the game behind efforts to make the team a permanent reality. “This league is exactly the movement we were hoping for to provide talented players a platform within a community to play and continue to enjoy the game at a competitive level,” he says.
WestSound FC Director of Coaching (DOC) George Vukic understands the new doors that are opening to players in West Sound. “We envision a lot of excitement and momentum resulting from this,” Vukic says.
