PASCO, WA — Football Club Three Rivers Tri-Cities have revealed their crest and colors ahead of the new side’s debut in the Evergreen Premier League in 2014.
Featuring the longest official name in the statewide league, the club chose to simplify its logo, using the initials “FC3,” a nickname they hope catches on with fans.
“We definitely think the FC3 name is something that will stick,” says club founder and head coach Chad Bodnar. “The Three Rivers name is always the club’s full identity, but for fans and kids and supporters alike “FC3” is a nickname we think people will be drawn to and love to cheer for.”
The crest features a traditional shield shape with interlocking letters in black forming the FC3 initials. Behind are two panels which display the club’s dual green-tone colors. The design was one of a handful submitted to the team by EPLWA Branding Manager Timothy Hamilton, who earlier designed the league logo and the crest for the club who could be FC3’s biggest rival, Wenatchee United.
“We wanted to reflect the youth club’s themes with the crest and color, and think this logo has a bit of its own flair, yet stays within the club’s model,” Bodnar explains.
The “3” in the nickname has a dual meaning, representing the “Rivers” in the youth club, but also bringing together the Tri-Cities of Pasco, Kennewick and Richland.
Football Club Three Rivers Tri-Cities was accepted into the Evergreen Premier League on August 15th. Since then the club has announced a dozen players and held its first open tryouts.
