Seattle Stars FC win Starfire Premier Soccer League Fall Championship

TUKWILA, WA — A single goal and a stout defense were enough for future Evergreen Premier League club Seattle Stars FC to claim an undefeated season and the Fall SPSL crown on Sunday night November 24 at Starfire Sports Complex. The final score was 1:0 over Pars Lions FC.

Ramon Ramos scored the winner for Seattle in the first half.

The Final was low-scoring and tightly played. Pars Lions FC and the Stars met twice during the regular season, with one match ending in a 1:1 draw, while the other went to the Stars, 4:1. Seattle ended up allowing the fewest goals in the table.

Pars Lions FC was a combined team from Pars FC and Three Lions FC, which both contributed talent to make a chase at the Fall SPSL crown.

THE DEFENSE RESTS: Seattle Stars FC had the best defense in the SPSL.

The Stars got to the Final by beating Deportivo Italia for a third time this season. On Saturday night November 23 Seattle took a 2:1 win over Italia on goals by Kamal Hassan and Buba Findi.

The Stars now will prepare for spring 2014 when they will enter the EPLWA and statewide competition.
