WENATCHEE, WA–– Wenatchee United FC put together the kind of complete performance they have been looking for all season and it resulted in a 3-1 home win over Vancouver Victory FC.
“I’m very happy with these guys,” coach John Wright told the Wenatchee World afterward. “They worked very hard today.”
The Capitals scored twice in the first half on goals by Eduardo Perez (his 3rd on the year) and Eleazar Galvan (his second.)
In the second half the Victory rallied on another goal from Mizra Ramic. Ramic has now scored five times this season.
United stayed on course and eventually got a bit of breathing room when Yonatan Rodriguez notched his first goal of the year to make it 3-1.
Wenatchee improves to 2-5-0 (6 points) while Vancouver (5-3-0, 15 points) is cooled off a bit. The Victory had won five of their last six matches going into this contest.
It was United’s first win at their new home field (for the rest of the season) at Wenatchee Valley College. The win avenges Wenatchee’s earlier 3-1 loss at Vancouver.
The match featured two red cards to the home side. Brendan Wagner was tossed as was head coach John Wright.
