when Jamoy Stevens received his 2nd yellow for a late tackle, earning him a red card and ejection
from the game.
Seattle slowly gained control of the ball possession and finally broke through when Wyatt Hill scored from 18 out on a low shot off of an assist from Juan Maldanado. On the third corner kick Jesse De Leon sent in a hot cross that was headed down by Webster. Langdon Roscoe got to the ball inside the 6 yard box and slammed the ball into the upper corner of the net for the winner.
It was the second time this season that the Victory snagged a win in extra time at home after giving up a late goal. It was also the second game against Seattle that V2FC were able to get a late winner for all three points.
General Manager Barrett Goddard said after the match, “The red card really changed the game. We were in control and then had to scramble to get all three points. It is not exactly how you draw it up, but I’m proud of the guys for getting another late result. It shows their resolve.”
The win improves the Victory to 6-3-0 on the season and puts them in second place in the EPLWA standings with five games to go. V2FC travel on the road to play Yakima on Saturday June 21 at 6 PM at Marquette Stadium.
