BREMERTON, WA — There will be carryover from the 2014 EPLWA WestSound FC Men’s team to the club that is taking their place, the Olympic Force. The Force have announced that one of the founders of WestSound EPLWA will be the first head coach of the new Force: Kevin Skinner.
“The Olympic Force are proud to announce Kevin Skinner as the head coach for the first year of our Men’s EPLWA team!” says a post on the club’s Facebook page. “Kevin was a huge part of starting the Men’s WestSound EPLWA team last year and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board. Kevin has a UEFA C license and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and he was a Washington State Coach of the Year Nominee in 2013. We are looking forward to helping him build a strong program the whole community can be proud of.”
Skinner gave his all on and off the pitch in the EPLWA last season, displaying talent, grit and a keen sense of humor. It was clear he was happy to be on the pitch. The Force can expect the same commitment this season along with the same contagious personality.
Skinner earned a BA in Physical Education & Sport Coaching/Teaching, Greenwich University, UK. He played for West Ham United Academy of the EPL, and had stints with Leyton Orient and Southend United. He represented the England Futsal Team, and is a former Kitsap Pumas indoor player.
Skinner has been coaching in the greater Kitsap area on various youth teams, including the new Kitsap Alliance. He’s a strong advocate of local talent in the region and has an excellent relationship with the players on the 2014 WestSound team.
