Fathers Day left things all tied up in the Evergreen Premier League. Two sides with title aspirations were held and the aftermath is a table that is closer by the hour. Seattle went in to Vancouver and drew the first place Victory while Yakima got an added time goal to draw Wenatchee FC.

YUFC 3-3 WFC
YAKIMA, WA— Wenatchee FC built a 2-0 lead in the first half at Marquette Stadium before Yakima United came all the way back to draw level 2-2. The Capitals seemed to be restored to the table race when they went up 3-2 late on, but the Hoppers took two points away and grabbed one of their own in added time. It was Yakima’s first point against their Central Washington rivals in four tries.
The result is a dent in Wenatchee’s hopes of finishing first. They have played ten matches out of fourteen, the most in the top four, and have 16 points, good enough for fourth place.
The Hoppers don’t care about Wenatchee’s situation. They fought back to grab a point for the first time against WFC after losing three straight. YUFC (3-5-2, 11 points) is tied for fifth with Seattle, both on 11 points. The Stars have played one less match than Yakima.
Two players had braces in the match, Adrian Espinoza for Wenatchee and Hector Valdovinos for Yakima. For Espinoza they were goals 3 and 4 on the season. Valdovinos is now tied for the Hoppers lead in goals with Jesse Esquivel at 7 after scoring his 6th and 7th of 2015.

V2FC 1-1 Seattle
VANCOUVER, WA—The Victory beat the Stars 6-1 up in Seattle but almost lost this one on a day they had worked so hard to prepare for. It was a double header of action in which Vancouver hosted a PDL match at 2 PM between the Portland Timbers U23 and Sounders U23. That one ended 1-0 for the Timbers.
In the second match Seattle stayed tough throughout, fighting to a 0-0 stalemate at the half. Then the Stars took the lead in the 69th minute on the third goal of the season for Anderson Dias.
The Victory could feel all three points slipping away along with their spot at the top of the EPLWA table.
They managed to grab a point back when defender Aaron Kinnes scored his first goal of the season in the 88th minute to make the final score 1-1.
Vancouver is now 7-1-1 on the season with 22 points but winless in the last two weeks. Seattle stays tied for 5th in the table with a 3-4-2 record and 11 points.
Wednesday night in Lakewood the Victory travel to play the South Sound Shock. With the Sunday draw this match is now a battle for first place. The Shock are on 20 points and can take over first place if the Victory can’t improve on their current form.
