The Evergreen Premier League of Washington (EPLWA) has debuted its 2016 season social media theme as initial graphics and videos for “#HomeTownColors” are now online representing the 8 clubs that play in home towns across Washington state.
The first batch of graphics, featuring the #HomeTownColors logo and square blocks of each team’s main color, are now up at the league Facebook site Facebook.com/EvergreenPremierLeague. Further graphics will build on the theme as the season approaches (kick off scheduled for April 30 / May 1.)
“We are really excited about our third season,” says EPLWA Communications Director David Falk. “There is buzz about the Evergreen Premier League coming from around the United States, but we are focused first on representing our local communities of players, supporters and businesses.”
The Evergreen Premier League debuted in 2014 and over two seasons its clubs have combined to draw 30,000 fans in support of elite adult amateur grassroots soccer. “There have been some great strides made in connecting the sport of soccer with our communities,” Falk says. “#HomeTownColors is a chance for our clubs to promote themselves by the colors they defend and the flags they wave. We are hoping supporters adopt the phrase in their tweets and also bring their club colors to matches in all sorts of fun and creative ways.”
The EPLWA has clubs in Bellingham, Bremerton, Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Vancouver, Wenatchee and Yakima. In most of its home towns the league operates as the highest level of soccer available to support and compete in.
