BELLINGHAM, WA— The Evergreen Premier League today announces that Uriel Herrera of Bellingham United and Eli Peterson of Washington Premier South Sound have been chosen as the EPLWA Players of the Week for July 23, 2017.

URIEL HERRERA (OFFENSE) – Bellingham United
The Hammers faced two must-win matches last weekend and came out on top in both in large part due to the offensive exploits of Uriel Herrera (Snohomish WA, Snohomish High School.) He scored twice on Saturday at Vancouver and then added a second brace the next day at home.
“Uriel was a constant threat on the opposition’s goal all weekend. His play was stellar,” says BUFC Head Coach Lance Calloway.
Herrera’s four-goal weekend launched his season total to six goals as the Hammers moved to within one point of the top of the table.

ELI PETERSON (DEFENSE) – Washington Premier South Sound
The Shock faced two away matches last weekend against clubs eager to put points on the board. Eli Peterson (Covington WA, Kentwood High School) and the WPSS defense fought hard and managed back-to-back shut outs at Seattle (0-0 draw) and at Oly Town (1-0 Shock win.) The results moved the Shock up to third in the EPLWA table.
“Eli has been playing very well,” says WPSS Head Coach Adam Becker. “He is an outstanding one-on-one defender and unstoppable in the air. His leadership and communication helped secure two shutouts and kept us in the running for a top three finish.”

About the Players of the Week honors
The Evergreen Premier League will be selecting an offensive and defensive Player of the Week each week during the 2017 season. The Players of the Week will be acknowledged with a pair of custom, unique socks featuring the EPLWA logo. The socks are from Rock’Em Apparel, the Official Provider of the weekly reward. The league worked with Rock’Em Apparel to finalize the look of the socks. The league logo is complemented by a rendering of George Washington in the State seal.
The phrase “Rock ‘Em” represents the willingness to achieve greatness; to go above and beyond limits,” says www.RockEmApparel.com.
Evergreen Premier League players will work to do just that for their clubs this season. The best of the best will have cool custom socks to show off around town for their efforts.
