EPLWA Scoreboard: Big Sunday for South Sound’s clubs

A sunny Mother’s Day Sunday was a big day for the Evergreen Premier League’s two South Sound clubs as the Oly Town Artesians and Washington Premier FC both picked up important early season home victories.

It was a hot Mother’s Day in Olympia as the Artesians beat the Stars.

Oly Town FC 2-1 Seattle Stars

OLYMPIA, WA—Christian Segovia scored his second goal of the season in the 21st minute and Daniel Gonzalez added what proved to be the game winner in the 61st to lift the Oly Town Artesians (1-0-1) to a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Stars (1-1-0) on a scorching Mother’s Day at Black Hills High School. Seattle broke through just four minutes later when Mason Bochner slotted a pass from Pablo Gallo past Olson to cut the lead in half, 2-1. The Artesians faced plenty of pressure but held for the win. Washington Premier 4-0 Vancouver Victory

PUYALLUP, WA—A match that was 0-0 at halftime went sideways for visiting Vancouver Victory (1-1-0) in the second frame as Washington Premier FC (2-0-0) scored four goals to run away with a big win on Sunday May 13 at the WPFC Fields Complex. JJ Schmeck played a role in three of the four goals for WPFC.

Mother’s Day was Schmeck’s Day. JJ scored 2 and assisted on a 3rd in the 2nd half.

Schmeck fed the eventually winner in the 52nd minute to Tresor Kadima. It was all WPFC needed to win but once they opened the door the rest starting coming. Schmeck made it 2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 69th minute. Then JJ made  it 3-0 with his second goal of the match in the 76th with an assist from Stephen Murray. The match was decided but the final goal happened in the 86th when Kadima got his second of the day on an assist from Cayman John. The WPFC shutout was credited to Mike Arguello.
