Week 3 Players of the Week: LaBranche and Wenzel

Defensive:

Collin LaBranche – Oly Town Artesians: The Oly Town Artesians won their second straight 2-1 game after falling behind 1-0 in both contests, and it was Artesians defender Collin LaBranche who scored the game winner on a header from a free kick in the 75th minute. The Saint Martin’s alum held down the back line as well keeping the league’s highest scoring team through two games to just the one goal.

Offensive:

Micah Wenzel – Tacoma Narrows: The EPLWA veteran and two time league champion made the move over to the Tacoma Narrows squad this season and got them their first league point this weekend with an 88th minute goal in a 1-1 draw against the Vancouver Victory. Wenzel also constantly broke up Vancouver’s play to keep his team within striking distance of a point and connected well with his midfielders and forwards in the draw.

Other nominees:

Defensive: Stephen Murray (Tacoma), Danny Allred (Vancouver), Connor Steward (Bellingham)

Offensive: Danny Fazio (Bellingham), Arturo Behena (Vancouver),
