Week 2 Recap: Jets, Hoppers Pick Up Ws Plus Three Draws

Everett Jets 2, Spokane Shadow 0

The Everett Jets picked up their second win of the season with a 2-0 victory over the Spokane Shadow on Saturday afternoon. Everett got on the board early by forcing an own goal by the Shadow in the 11th minute and then added an insurance goal late on Manuel Segura’s strike in the 86th. Avary Olson scored the clean sheet in goal for the Jets, who improved to 2-0-0 this season.

Yakima United 5, Oly-Pen Force 4

Gonzalo Frausto (Yakima) and Craig Johnson (Oly-Pen) each scored a hat trick but it was Yakima jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the first half and held on to a 5-4 win in Gig Harbor on Saturday afternoon. The Hoppers improved to 1-0-1 on the season with four points with the win.

Oly Town Artesians 1, Bellingham United 1

Sam Aguilar scored a second half stoppage time equalizer for the Oly Town Artesians to eek out a point in a 1-1 draw with Bellingham United on Saturday night. Thomas Watson opened the scoring for the Hammers in the 13th minute, putting the defending champs on the board and with the lead for 77+ minutes before conceding late. Oly Town moved to 0-0-2 with two points while Bellingham opened the season and are 0-0-1 so far.

Northstar Bellevue 2, Vancouver Victory 2

Vancouver took a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute but conceded the equalizer in the 83rd minute on Kante Hamidou’s second goal of the game and Northstar and the Victory split the points with a 2-2 draw at Bonney Lake High School. Bellevue picked up their first point of the season and are now 0-1-1 with one point and the Victory got their second draw of the season and are now 0-0-2.

PacNW 1, Spokane Shadow 1

Sunday’s lone game ended in the weekend’s third draw when PacNW and the Shadow tied 1-1. Sean Sent picked up PacNW’s goal in the first half while Spokane picked up the equalizer on Dawson Huett’s second half strike. PacNW picked up a point in their first game of the season while Spokane picked up their second draw and are now 0-1-2.
