EPLWA Semifinals: Wa Premier and Bellingham Advance

Washington Premier 3, Everett Jets 2

The Everett Jets opened the scoring with a goal from Rogelio Martinez, but Washington Premier scored three straight goals to build a 3-1 lead and hung on to move into the EPLWA championship with a 3-2 win over the Everett Jets. Ryo Takeuchi equalized for WA Premier in the 42nd minute and the first half ended all tied up, 1-1. Logan Oyama broke the deadlock early in the second half and Micah Wenzel added an important insurance goal in the 64th. Everett scored a late goal to make it interesting, but WA Premier held on for the victory.

Bellingham United 3, Yakima United 0

Eric Bunnell scored early and Hector Gutierrez kept another clean sheet to help Bellingham United advance and host their second straight EPLWA championship game with a 3-0 win over Yakima United. Bunnell opened the scoring in the 7th minute before Dylan Langei made it 2-0 near the end of the first half. Ivan Colin added a goal in the 82nd to close it out. The Hammers registered their fifth shutout of the season out of 11 games and will take on Washington Premier on Saturday, July 23rd at 6:00 PM at Orca Field in defense of their 2021 title.
