Wenatchee FC Goalkeeper Miguel Avalos was named Defensive Player of the Week last week in the Evergreen Premier League for his shutout performance in Spokane and holding South Sound to one goal in Wenatchee the day before. It’s just the latest turn in his adventure from Mexico to Washington – which he is sharing ‘live’ in “Away From Home” movies on his Facebook page.

Miguel (right) and his brother Javier are in Wenatchee thanks to connections with WFC co-founder Javier Reyna.

Miguel has agreed to let EPLWA.com and our social media sites share portions of the videos he’s filming on his Facebook page. He goes “live” via a new function on the social networking site and then the videos are archived, where EPLWA grabs them for shorter compilations. It’s all to share just a bit of his adventure in America, where he is playing for Wenatchee FC along with his brother Javier.

The brothers connected with Wenatchee FC via club co-founder Javier Reyna. “We are from the same home town in Mexico, Peribán Michoacán,” Reyna reveals. “I grew up playing for his dad on a local team. and with his brother. That is how I know them.” Now the Avalos brothers are in the Evergreen Premier League, making an instant impact with their play and with their videos.
